Growing from a small custom shop in the early 1970s to the only new brand to have challenged the traditional Big Three of American acoustic guitars (Gibson, Guild, and Martin), Taylor has effectively changed the marketplace for acoustic steel-string guitars and influenced every other maker of acoustic stringed instruments. But Taylor's influence in the guitar market goes far beyond the guitars themselves. Having pioneered the use of modern building techniques - such as utilizing CNC machines, UV-finishing, etc. - the company has been an undisputed leader when it comes to innovation. Taylor's latest efforts are concentrated on wood conservation, and again, the company is setting the example that the industry is following. The Taylor Guitar Book combines a historical story line with useful hands-on information about model changes over the years - to help readers learn how to identify and date a Taylor - and features shop and factory photos (both historical and current) as well as full-color images of guitars.

This book studies the interplay between open innovation and knowledge management issues in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With the proliferation of the open innovation paradigm and against the backdrop of increasing external knowledge transfer activities, knowledge management is more important than ever for innovation and firm performance in any type of organization. In fact, knowledge management is no longer a purely intra-organizational activity but constitutes a vital interface function between an organization and its external partners/stakeholders. In this second edition, an updated overview of open innovation, knowledge management, and the interplay between the two is provided, reflecting the latest developments in the field. The book is organized into three sections: Part 1 introduces the foundational concepts under discussion, Part 2 provides empirical research insights, and Part 3 addresses promising future avenues in the study of open innovation and knowledge management. Each chapter is written by leading international researchers, providing valuable perspectives from the forefront of the field.

This edited volume undertakes a systematic exploration of China's multifaceted interactions with five pivotal players situated in the Indo-Pacific: the United States, Japan, India, Australia, and ASEAN. By delving into both the theoretical underpinnings of state-to-state relationships and the empirical nuances of China's strategic engagements with these five critical actors, this book casts a clarifying light on the complexity of China's bilateral ties within the region. The strategic rivalry between the United States and China has emerged as a defining feature of international politics in the Indo-Pacific region. How China engages with the U.S. and other significant stakeholders in the region will intricately shape the trajectory and character of an impending transition in the international order, either through peaceful or confrontational means in the future. Five key bilateral relationships are examined from dual perspectives, capturing insights from scholars hailing from both within China and beyond its borders. This comprehensive initiative delves into the different viewpoints held by Chinese academics and their international counterparts regarding the very same bilateral relationship to develop a deeper understanding of the dynamics at play. This book will captivate the attention of scholars and policy analysts alike, fascinated by the dynamics of the US-China competition and the broader realm of geopolitics.

This volume presents the work of various artists that have visited the enchanted frozen island of Greenland and caught its charms. They have mostly been visiting or living here for a period in connection with their work or simply because they have been smitten by the lore of this alluring ice wonder.
Many of the artists have been associated with Denmark, which has ruled Greenland for many centuries - actually getting a stake here via the Norse - Erik the Red in 953 AD - when Norway and Denmark became united in the Middle Ages. They had a great pasture farming and hunting society.
Later, the Inuit came over from Siberia and invaded Greenland and wiped out the Norse settlements. Only with the Danish-Norwegian missionary Hans Egede in 1721 was appointed royal missionary to Greenland did the Danish king again get to actually rule this part of the kingdom.
The Greenlanders of today´s Greenland are a mix of Danish, Inuit and some other European blood. They are a hardy lot - it takes guts and perseverance to brave it out under these harsh and challenging conditions.
