Thanks - I’ll take a look. Can I be incognito on it as my sneaky, younger work colleagues are often laughing at what they find on Tinder (I was hidden). I've never used online dating, but I have a friend (55) who used classic fm dating with some success. I didn't know you could be hidden on Tinder! I would choose to be, because I know people who look through the listings for people they might know. Ourtime in specifically for over 50’s but you have to pay otherwise you can’t send messages and tbh it’s pretty grim. Yes, I paid an annual fee (think it was about £120) and could remain hidden. The younger ones laugh at who is on Tinder and I’m a manager at work so definitely needed the hide option!! Heard of Classic FM dating. I’ll take a look! Oh, is it? So, not worth paying more than a month then? I’m a 51 year old female btw. Friends of mine had success with Elite Singles. One got married, the other is in a long term relationship. They’re not living together through choice. Both thought that their matches were good, and prior to meeting The One, they met people who became friends, or that they had an interesting evening with. A male friend of mine told me that he goes on Bumble because the women in their 50s are queuing up for you and it's easy to find casual relationships. and actually another male friend said something pretty similar. I went on Ourtime in January, met someone in the March and we are still together. I did go on about 6 dates before i found him! Im 51. Livelifelaughter · 02/10/2023 21:41. I’m in bumble and that doesn’t surprise me sadly as there’s too many mediocre men who think women are desperate for them. Too many of them want to talk dirty by about the 3rd message - I just delete when they get sleazy. I've got a Bumble account. It used to be the one that was supposed to be a bit higher quality. I don't think it is anymore. When I looked at the blokes on there a few days ago it was all a bit meh. God I tried ourtime, worst ever. Seems like its full of the dregs left who haven't aged well at all. Gave up after 6 months. You might as well do a site for any age, but put the range you want into a site. If just over 50, someone a couple of years younger who might be interested would not be on ourtime as not old enough - though as owned by match, you can agree to be put on that platform too which helps a bit. Yes, I know someone who has a life time membership because. well. Another who basically told me he joined because he was bored and could just fill in time .. Bumble was meant to be emancipating for women but instead it just gives men the ability to choose and discard. SamW98 · 02/10/2023 22:01. Yep, it's a complete ego boost for men. I believe all the dating sites are owned by much bigger companies with global reach. Global conglomerates. So, you’ll get to see someone from alternative sites, maybe a different picture, but it’s shared across a spectrum of outlets? I worked with women who had success on dating sites and my neighbour has been living with her date for over ten years. Whatever you pay there will always be dross but you’ll learn to sort that out as you get more experienced. Go with your gut. Tell someone where and who you’re meeting. Just meeting for a coffee is a good place to start. Be aware that once the sites get their claws into you, they might flood you with emails months after you cease paying. They are looking for relationship weakness or relationship ending so you will hopefully sign up again and pay. Good luck but keep your wits about you. I met dp on ourtime, he was my third date off there but I'd been doing different types of dating sites for a while. I was 51 then and thought I'd like to be a hot young thing on a site for once. it worked for me. The other two dates weren't particularly exciting to be fair. Not awful though. Your money feeds a massive network. Match Group - Wikipedia. LightSpeeds · 02/10/2023 22:02. I've got a Bumble account. It used to be the one that was supposed to be a bit higher quality. That would have been the site I'd have tried first, so it's a shame if it's not up to much. I tried fitness singles. honestly I go to the gym a few times a week, cycle a lot but by no means consider myself an athlete, just someone weight in proportion to height, look after myself. I honestly think most of the men barely leave the sofa on that site, it was verging on comical. Sorry OP this is more about where NOT to go !
